Creative group halloween costumes involve consideration for the type of people in the group. As an Example, if there are girls and boys in the group, then dressing up in the Barbie theme may not be the best choice…unless….you think creatively:
Costumes for Groups can include spinning basic concepts so there’s a touch of humor to a popular theme. For example:
A Spin on the Barbie Theme – “Barbie – Life Happened!”
1. One person can be Barbie, but actually dress-up as Barbie in the Box
2. Of course, somebody has to be Ken
3. Then add some humor with someone dressing up as “Older Barbie” ..lol..put on an “overweight suit” with a barbie wig
and a barbie dress. Do the same with Ken.
4. If there are more people, then they could be Barbie and Ken’s kids – 3 adults in diaper costumes could be their triplets.
Football and Cheerleaders with a Twist!
1. The twist is, the boys dress up as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders
2. Then of course, the girls dress up as Tight-End Football Players
The best way to spawn creative ideas for a group costume theme is to think of “a normal concept” then reverse it. Think, “fractured fairly tale”. There are so many creative ideas when you view costuming this way. Here are a few other ideas:
1. “Stuck in the Disco Era” – Have everyone wear the Overweight suit with 1970′s disco clothes to represent people who don’t change with the times
2. “Personal Trainer Gone Wild” – If you’re group are exercise crazy and in great shape, you could all go as Inflatable Personal Trainers
3. “Male Strippers – Not Quite!” – A group of funny guys could be Male Strippers as Female Strippers (you’ll have to see this costume, it’s not what you’re thinking).
